Aiki Kenpo Ju Jutsu Arana Hills Dojo Competition 19th September

We have had to change the date for the competition from September the 5th (which is father's day) to September the 19th (the first Sunday of the September holidays).

The next Aiki Kenpo Ju Jutsu competition will be held at the Arana Hills Dojo on September the 19th.

The competition will consist of two components Kumite & Self Defence Demonstrations, please read the Rules & Instructions to get the full details of how the competition will be run.

For those competing you will have to fill out the Nomination form.

In addition to this each competitor will be required to complete a Waiver before competing.

Grading

Next Tuesday the 22nd of June is the next grading. Those who will be grading will have received their nomination forms by now. For those who are not grading come down and have a great night training and support those who are grading.

Training 2010

Welcome back to training for 2010. All sessions have resumed at the North Lakes and Arana Hills Dojos, so if you havn't already done so make sure you get down there to brush the holiday cobwebs out of the system.

2010 promises to be an exciting year. Aiki Kenpo Ju Jutsu intends to enter into a number of tournaments this year not least of which is the WCJJO World Ju Jitsu tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada. To be held from Wednesday 22nd September to Monday 27th September 2010. Ensure that you get your expressions of interest in to Sensei Peter by the end of the week if your interested in competing.

Summer Break

The Arana Hills & North Lakes Dojos will be closing for the summer. The last day of training will be the 9th and 10th of December for North Lakes and Arana Hills respectively. Training will resume on February 1st at North Lakes and February 2nd at Arana Hills.

Qld Open Junior BJJ competition at MAQLD

On the 15th of November MA QLD will be holding their Qld Open Junior BJJ competition. This competition is for Juniors only up to 17 years.

Weign in is between 8:30 and 9:30 at:

Holidays

There will be no training at the North Lakes and Arana Hills Dojos during the school holidays.

Regular training will resume on Monday the 5th of October at North Lakes and Tuesday the 6th of October at Arana Hills.

We will also be holding a demonstration on Friday 25th of September at 1pm which will last for approximatly 1 hour, come down if you can get there.

2009 Queensland State BJJ Championships

A big crowd saw many talented grapplers contest the Queensland Championships of this grappling art. The Cyclone Dojo had a good representation on the day, with plenty of black and white on the mat and on the winner’s podium. To all those who competed, WELL DONE! First, second, third, last; it makes no difference. The important thing is getting out there and giving it your all!

Our rep’s were:

· Maryrose McClarty (placed 2^nd)

· Naomi McClarty (placed 3^rd)

· Kirra Travers (placed 2^nd)

· Finn Travers (out of the medals against BIG opponents)

· Thorne Hanna (placed 1^st)

· Erin Hills (placed 3^rd)

· Amy Hills (out of the medals against opponents up to double her weight)

· Tara Hills (placed 3^rd)

· Nikhil Kumar (placed 2^nd against Thorne in a hotly contested group)

· David McClarty (out of the medals but learned a lot)

· Dylan Ridings (placed 2^nd)

· Jace Debono (placed 2^nd)

· Brian McPherson (first time out, out of the medals against more seasoned opponents)

· Emily Knauth (placed 2^nd)

Again, well done guys! It was great to see the team support on the day!!

Our competition at Arana Hills PCYC is coming up in September, so keep training hard everyone!!
